Why do you need?
You could come right out of your interface into an amp. Problem is, it will be the wrong impedance, volume and in many cases you will get a bad hum or buzz. The Reamper converts from balanced to unbalanced signals using a special transformer and circuitry. It will usually eliminate all hum and buzz issues and output to your amp or modeler at the proper volume.
Recording
Many guitar and bass players will record a direct signal to a separate track. This is a good practice to get into. The reason you do this is to have the ability to change your guitar or bass sound. You are no longer limited to what you have already recorded. Tone Unlimited.

Being an electronics guy, I found a way to build a circuit that does the same job and will only sell for $67.00.
All the components are the best of the best. The special transformer comes from Germany. Hand wired, hand built. I personally test each one in my studio. I even designed and built the case using 3D Cad software and 3D Printers.
